Biography

Sehr Amer received her B.S. in Psychology (Distinction) with a minor in Asian American Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2020. She wished to continue in the path of psychological research and explore numerous branches in psychology after completing her senior thesis, "Does Culture Orientation Moderate the Association Between Attachment and Relationship Satisfaction?", and working in two psychological research labs. The first in Dr. R. Chris Fraleys' social psychology lab studying attachment, emotions and relationships, and the other, Dr. Nathan Todds' clinical psychology lab studying the model minority myth and Asian American experiences. With social, clinical and health psychology being among her major research interests, she applied for an opportunity to work at the Social Action Lab and is the lab manager as of August 2020. As the lab manager, Sehr works toward supporting the lab in all of its research endeavors and aims to foster a positive and productive lab environment.
